RUTHERFORD MODEL OF AN ATOM

Rutherford and his understudies had done a renowned alpha dispersing investigation to ponder the structure of an iota.

ALPHA PARTICLE SCATTERING EXPERIMENT

He took up a flimsy gold foil and shelled this foil with a substantial alpha molecule ( helium cores ). He set up a zinc sulfide screen and saw that a modest glimmer of light created on the screen.

Perception 


1. The vast majority of the alpha particles went through the gold foil without undeflected.

2. A little division of the alpha particles was avoided by a little point.

3. A not many molecules get ricocheted back, that is, were diverted by 180°.

End 


1. The vast majority of the space in the molecule is unfilled as a large portion of the alpha particles went through the gold foil.

2. A couple of positive charge alpha particles get avoided. This is because of loathsome power between the molecule and alpha particles. The positive charge must be packed in an exceptionally little volume.

3. A couple of particles get skipped back by 180° shows that the volume involved by the core is unimportantly exceptionally little when contrasted with the all-out volume of the iota.

STRUCTURE OF ATOM ( PROPOSED BY RUTHERFORD) 


1. The positive charge and the vast majority of the mass of the iota were thickly moved in an outrageous little region. This little area or part of the particle was called as the core of a molecule.

2. The core is encompassed by the electrons that move around the core with an extremely fast in a round way and called as a circle. In this manner, the Rutherford model of a particle takes after with the nearby planetary group as the planets spin around the sun, comparatively, the electron rotates around the core.

3. The electrons and the core both get held together with an electrostatic power of fascination.
